Hike Greenlink Rotary Park Trail In Cape Breton
Greenlink Rotary Park is a well-groomed trail system for pedestrians and cyclists in Sydney, Cape Breton. The urban park has seven entrances, an off-leash dog area, views of Wentwork Creek dam and waterfall, plus nine-hole disc golf. This is a popular spot for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter.

Before You Start Hiking Greenlink Rotary Park Trail
Although this is a relatively easy and flat trail, there are a few things to note before you begin your walk at Greenlink Rotary Park. First, there are seven different entrances to the trail system. Parking can be found at both the Rotary Drive and Churchill Drive entries.
The seven entrances to Greenlink Rotary Park are:
- St. Anthony Daniel Ball Park
- End of Shandwick Street
- Behind Shipyard Ball Park
- Rotary Drive Parking Lot
- Churchill Drive Parking Lot
- Membertou (near the Hampton Inn)
- Cape Breton Regional Hospital
Located near the Rotary Drive entrance is nine-hole disc golf, which is free to use.
Dogs are welcome. There is both an on-leash and off-leash section within the park. If you use the off-leash area, please abide by the park rules:
- Dogs must have current CBRM dog tags
- Owners must carry a leash
- Dogs must come when called
- Dogs must be within sight of owners
- Owners are responsible for any damages or injuries caused by their dogs
- Dogs must not interfere with other park users
- Aggressive dogs, female dogs in heat and puppies under three months old are not permitted in off-leash areas
- Owners must pick up after their dogs and dispose of it appropriately.
Our Experience Hiking Greenlink Rotary Park Trail
After a lunch date in Sydney, we decided to check out a local trail. The Greenlink Rotary Park is a beautiful and well-groomed trail. Despite being a sunny day, the trail was not overly busy.
